Reviving the Greenhouse

Imagine a world where there is abundant healthy food supply that is grown locally with native, seasonal crops. Atlantic City High School is home to one of the most beautiful, well-lit greenhouses overlooking the bay and marshland in Atlantic City. Viking students eagerly peer into the brightly-lit space and excitedly ask their teachers when they will get the opportunity to learn and work in a greenhouse. We can feed their hunger for STEM learning by teaching students how to grow their own food using agricultural techniques.

The Greenhouse at ACHS has long been a valuable educational resource for our students, providing hands-on learning opportunities in environmental science, botany, and sustainable agriculture. However, over time, the greenhouse has fallen into disrepair and is in need of significant renovations and upgrades to make it a functional and safe space for student learning once again.

As we revamp and re-open the Greenhouse at ACHS, our students will receive firsthand experience growing their own food, taking care of living organisms, and providing healthy fruits and vegetables to the Atlantic City community.
