About Jerry
Jerome Greenberg (1933-2022) was a lifelong resident of Absecon Island. Born in Atlantic City, he was a second-generation graduate of Atlantic City High School. He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather.
Jerry was forever curious and encouraged that in others. He loved science and being outdoors. An avid rock climber in his youth, he canoed rivers in the Pine Barrens into his 80s. And he was passionate about growing his vegetable garden and building things.
Children quickly found that Jerry always had something interesting to tell or show them, and that he shared their wonder at discovering something new. At any gathering, Jerry was more likely to be found surrounded by children than standing with the adults.
The Jerry Fund was endowed to continue his legacy of public service and dedication to exploration and education.
